Attentiveness

#178 I’ve been thinking about the importance of #hearing and the attentiveness it requires. In pondering the difference between listening and hearing, I’ve come to the conclusion that hearing requires more of the senses to be used, whereas when you listen, you just get the noise. Hearing, or deeper listening, needs you to listen to the words being said, observe body language, think about what has not been communicated and possible reasons for that and to double check your understanding. It takes #timepatienceandattentiveness. I feel like I miss the point so much and I want to be better at this. I wonder how many conflicts would be avoided if we were more attentive to hearing one another… (at Ripon College Cuddesdon)
